Push

Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart, saying, "In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man. "There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Give me legal protection from my opponent.' "For a while he was unwilling ; but afterward he said to himself, 'Even though I do not fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.' " And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge said; now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? "I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”
- Luke 18: 1-8

Dear Ekko,
We’re getting reports of healing, semi-healing, almost healing, and not yet healing. Whatever the case, let’s persist in prayer, with faith. As one of my old prayer mentor would say, Let’s P.U.S.H. - Pray, Until, Something, Happens.

Attached is an excerpt (PDF File, download it and enjoy) from Richard Foster’s book on Prayer - chapter on Healing Prayers. I personally recommend the whole book but for now, for those who are seeking to persist in Healing Prayers for themselves and others, this chapter may encourage you.

"We must repeat the same supplications not twice or three times only, but as often as we have need, a hundred and a thousand times… we must never be weary in waiting for God’s help.” - John Calvin

At the end of the day, we need to take seriously Nike’s advice and “Just do it.”
The best way to learn how to pray is to pray. When you gather to pray, just pray.

  • As for reports and testimonies of healing and/or answered prayers; please send them in to isaac@ekkochurch.com. We’ll collect and testify! Also, some are documenting their healing so as to give more effective praise to God. Feel free to document, journal, record your progress. Let’s PUSH together!
  • Send in your PUSH plans. I’m getting plans sent to me almost everyday of people in our church blocking out time & space for intercession, scripture reading, devotionals, fasting, etc. It’s truly inspiring. I am praying with you and praying for each of your plans.
  • Have a great weekend!

“We are to press the matter, not with vain repetitions, but with urgent repetitions. We repeat, not to count the times, but to gain the prayer. We cannot quit praying because heart and soul are in it… We press our pleas because we must have them or die.”
Oswald continues… “Christ puts importunity
as a distinguishing characteristic of true praying. We must not only pray, but we must pray with great urgency, with intentness and with repetition. We must not only pray,  but we must pray again and again… Jesus made it very plain that the secret of prayer and its success lie in its urgency.” Oswald Chambers
