I can't wait to see you all this Thursday night.
Let's get ready to pray together.
We'll have two amazing guests this Thursday night, Erina and Michael Eubanks are coming by! They'll pray with us and activate in us a new level of hospitality to the Other.
Here's how you can get ready:
a. Pray for the heart of God for Others, both at Ekko, newcomers, and those in your world.
b. Pray for God's guidance in the next steps for Ekko; i.e. new building and time... let's ask God for the best possible next steps that will bring Him the most glory.
c. Let's pray that every single person that we meet feels the love of God.
Also, here's an encouraging word we received via email today. It's true we must grow and change, but it's also true that we've been maturing and changing. So proud of each and every one of you. Thank you and see you soon.
"I felt moved to email you today and encourage you all in the fine work you are doing with Ekko's ministry. Even though distance keeps me from attending Ekko, I still listen to Sunday's message every Monday morning. I find them so challenging and have grown so much as a result of these messages over the past year. That's my first encouragement to the staff; the Holy Spirit is using Ekko's messages and reaching a larger audience outside of the walls of your church. Thank you for posting these messages online. As a result, it's been shaping the way I live and interact with my current church body and the conversations I'm having with both those in the church and outside. They have strengthened my relationship with my fiancee and prepare me to be the man God has called me to be. I believe God has anointed Ekko with a very unique message. Continue on with the vision God has placed on your hearts!
With that being said, I was listening to Pastor Bryan's message from yesterday on Numbers 20. He made a comment about a couple that had emailed the staff saying they had found Ekko to be a very inhospitable place. I don't know this couple and the context in which they came to Ekko, but I imagine receiving an email of that nature can be both insightful and also very discouraging. I thought it may be beneficial for you to know about my own experience at Ekko as a (non-Asian-American) and leave you with some encouragement today. (My partner) and I NEVER felt like an outcast when we were a part of your church. We have received nothing but love and support from the Ekko tribe, even after we decided to look for a church closer to home. I feel extremely blessed and honored for the little time I was able to share with you guys. For that I am so grateful.
I believe there's always adjustments we need to make to orient our lives in accordance with the Gospel message. I think Pastor Bryan does a very good job addressing those issues and speaking the truth in love. I pray for him all the time and know that God will continue to provide him with wisdom as he leads the church...
I'd love to see you and provide a meal for you!" - Email
