Good evening. I've been looking forward to sharing this week's Percolator post. Tomorrow we gather for our first Sunday service in 2016. This new year we'll gather again weekly, every Sunday, to learn, to grow, to be edified, to be loved and to love. But we have only one "first" Sunday of the year to set the tone, to take the right first steps, to enter in with the correct posture. I can't think of a better way to do this then by preparing our hearts to... give thanks.
This to me is one of the main reasons we gather. We are gathering with the "assembly", the congregation, to give an amplified shout of praise to the God who has been so good to us, to humanity, to creation. Despite our shortcomings, he has remained good, trustworthy, kind, and loving. This is the kind of God we follow, this is the only God worth following.
Let's prepare our hearts starting tonight for tomorrow. For tomorrow we gather to praise the Lord.
Meditate (watch) with Me
Pray with Me
Pray this verse with me tonight, "Praise the LORD! I will thank the LORD with all my heart as I meet with his godly people." - Psalm 111:1. Tell your soul to shape up, to stop whining, to get excited about meeting God and his people... remind yourself tonight that it is good to praise the Lord.
